My son's having a new kitchen fitted. He's in a Victorian terrace and the window sills on the two windows are lower than work surface height, so he obviously needs to change that. The question is, would a double glazing company do that kind of work, or do you need to get a builder in as well?

They can do it. They will order the window with a blank at the bottom and make a new sill without having to alter the window size or requiring planning permission.
