cheap heaters

I hope you won't think I'm advertising, but we might get some more cold weather.

I usually suggest oil-filled radiators with thermostats but no timers, because they give out a gentle sustained heat and I think they are safer. Tesco had a heap of them earlier but my local big store is sold out now and they have some convectors. When the weather turns cold high street shops sell out.

I happened to see that Halfords have some convectors at £19 I've had that brand before in an emergency. Sometimes they have special offers online.

Screwfix are the same price and Wickes are slightly cheaper

I keep a few in case my CH fails, but I got then in the summer sales.

It wouldn't have been the first place I'd look, but it might be useful. You can reserve online and pay when you collect from your local shop.

Merry Christmas Piglet.

I used two very similar heaters when we were living in a static caravan whilst doing a house renovation. Worked really well. Great to be able to put on a low setting over night so we knew we would not wake up to 5 degree temperatures.

Ooh, was considering something like that for the garage. I guess I could use a timer plug to have it come on for a couple of hours at night to keep the chill off. The garage is an office btw, I wouldn't worry otherwise, but it's horrible going in there when it's been cold.

try just turning the thermostat down to min. I don't know what temp that is, but it will turn itself off if the garage is not cold. you will be able to tell by the neon coming on. I have an idea it may be 5C.
