Can anyone help me makeover my hallway?

Our hall is a disaster area - currently has a mess of coats on the wall going up the stairs, shoes scattered under the stairs, and a chest of drawers up against one wall with the router and network storage thing on top.

So, ideally, I would like a cabinet with space for coats to be hung on one side, and shoes to go under it, then open shelving on the other side for the router/NAS to go on, plus storage for other household tat. But can I find such a thing anywhere?!

the space for it is 90 cm wide, by 60cm deep, and there is a radiator in the way too, so if the cabinet/wardrobe has a full length door or drawers that open on the right had side, they won't open properly.

this sort of thing would be perfect if the full length door was actually open shelving, but I can't find that sort of thing anywhere!

does anyone have any nifty ideas?

thanks in advance!

Have you looked in ikea? They do extra slim wardrobes

I'd have to see the inside, but it could be possible to simply take the solid door off and add shelves?

On the other hand, if your stairs are suitable then maybe open up underneath them and build in a bench shelf for storage? Something like this or this?

I needed furniture for my dining room that was not standard and asked a local, independent fitted bedroom/study company. Their quote for something made to our requirements was cheaper than a lot of ready made stuff that was not

I got the Ikea slim wardrobes for my hall, they are fantastic. I struggled to find the hanging rail in stock despite three visits to the store.

Get a local carpenter to make it to measure

thanks - we were looking at IKEA, but couldn't find any particularly slim wardrobes, will have to look again! I'd be happy with a wardrobe/bookcase combo, so will have a wee look and see what they have :)

the space under our stairs is tiny - even the DC can't get under there - so no use for storage really. Annoying!

There are two types of PAX, you want the narrow ones.

I think pax are too tall for our house - iirc our ceilings are 3 or 4 cm too low for them!
