Tell me about the Surrey Hills...

what are the nicest villages /hamlets - want to be as rural as possible? Does the price vary across the area? Dont need schools or trains. Seen anything nice in the £1m bracket?

Nah, everything in the £1m bracket is a dog's dinner. If you want something nice you'll have to spend 3 or 4 mill.

It's a travesty, really.

dont suggest somewhere that gets clogged with visitors at the weekend

Try living in a ditch - you avoid all the hustle and bustle of a hamlet and it'll be much more 'authentic'.

Bowlersarm · 22/12/2013 12:39

The Surrey Hills are just one big tourist attraction though. Not sure there is anywhere you would escape the crowds.

I am currently in the Chiltern Hills - def not clogged with tourists...maybe I will just stay where I am and endure the coommute

Oh God, I couldn't live in a hole like that. I agree with Hanky- you need to seriously rethink your budget. Have you looked down the back of the sofa? I can usually grub up a couple of mill that way.

Bombay -- love the setting - not sure about the western theme kitchen!

GobbySadcase · 23/12/2013 19:22

niiiiiice

Kitttty · 23/12/2013 19:37

Gobby - first one is absolutely stunning - really love it....do you know the villages - is this one quiet or mobbed?....Is it all the SW London crew on day trips that is the problem?

GobbySadcase · 23/12/2013 19:55

I don't think touristy is an issue. It's near where my grandparents lived so didn't see it at all times but don't think it's that busy. Quite rural.

GobbySadcase · 23/12/2013 19:57

By the looks it's only cricket Sundays that get crowded.
