chain collapse

I had an offer on my house a couple of weeks ago after being on the market for 7 weeks. Just had a phone call from EA to say a house 2 down the chain has fallen through. How long do I wait for my buyers to find a new buyer? Apparently my buyers had 2 offers and their EA will chase up the people who lost out to see if they would like it now. If no should I remarket, though I imagine market dead over christmas? I am reluctant as they seem v keen on my house. Any advice please? They had arranged for a homebuyers report to be done next week now not sure that will go ahead either.

How long is the chain OP?

Hold fire for a day or two at the very least (unless you have had lots of other offers and one is very concrete eg cash buyer). Chains sometimes fall over but it may be fixable. How near were you to exchange, are you buying too or just selling? If your buyers have not laid out on surveys then it doesn't mean they are not interested, but they may want you to clarify if you're willing to wait before they shell out.

How desperate are you to move quickly? Did you like tye price they offered? This affects how you make your decision...

They seem good buyers, down sizing and I think mortgage free and really worried apparently that I will remarket. No other offers and their offer is good. I am selling chain free.
