Cleaning adhesive from encaustic tiles

When we pulled up the Lino on the hallway of our new house we discovered that it has patterned encaustic tiles. I'm not mad about them, but they are slowly growing on me and I've decided to clean them up and live with them for a while before I decide whether to keep them or not.

There are strips of adhesive on the tiles from where the Lino was stuck down. Any advice on the type of cleaning products to use to get it off? Thanks

was it glue, or sticky tape?

Sticky tape by the looks of it

you can get a spray can of "sticky stuff remover" that turns the glue into a gel that you can scrape off, and finish with a bit of kitchen roll. I think for a final clean you are meant to use WUL and water.

it will probably be on the hardware shelves, or possibly with childrens paints and marker pens.

I've recently used it for double-sided tape and for persistent labels.
