£1.5m to live on the North Circular - no thanks!

House prices near me are frankly ridiculous and set to get worse if The Evening Standard is to be believed.

But even though it's a lovely house, not to my taste (check out picture 2) who would spend that kind of money to live on a seriously busy and frequently congested part of the North Circ???

Im truly bewildered by London prices.

1.5 mil would get you this local to me

Your very very close to me Tiredemma - in my job I have to go into houses round there and the Four Oaks Estate. Some are truly jaw dropping, I love a good snoop to but have to not show it in my professional capacity!!!

bigTillyMintspie · 04/12/2013 16:45

Jeez, that house on the north circular - decorating is not my styleGrin, but I guess not too bad value compared to this near me!

MothershipG · 04/12/2013 16:53

I prefer yours bigTilly on a nice side road. Smile

Yours is a bit too far from the tube for me Tired Wink and a very lazy estate agent, if I'm spending that much I want to see more than 1 pic!

a house for the deaf and those who don't mind only turning left. I suppose that if it is congested, at least you can get out of the drive.

nightmare.

Tiredemma · 04/12/2013 18:38

Flossie- I must stress that I am NOT on the Four Oaks estate! but can walk to it from here!

Flossiechops · 04/12/2013 20:09

I think your a WAG really Wink

Tiredemma · 04/12/2013 20:30

I bloody wish. I did see a 'WAG' though at my antenatal clinic at local surgery.

She was very glam. I looked like shit.

wonkylegs · 04/12/2013 21:16

These two near me are cheaper and much much nicer.

Wonky Your links didn't work. The silly house prices in London never cease to amaze me and I've lived here for nearly 30 years!

I always feel sad for those houses... They must have been loved once, and now no one will touch them! There's one near me on finchley road thats on for a lot less than a house on a side street would get, and its been on for several months..... it's a lovely house, but who wants to live on a road thats so busy it may as well be a motorway with traffic lights! poor unloved houses :(

MothershipG · 06/12/2013 16:49

Hairy I used to live on the Finchley Road! - 20 years ago when I was a student, up the top just before the Hendon Way and it was incredibly busy and noisy then, goodness knows what it's like now!

hyperspacebug · 09/12/2013 17:41

Wow, that's cheap for the Finchley road area. People with £1m would feel entitled to better things. I guess it only takes one person who's desperate to stay in the area but doesn't have many millions.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 09/12/2013 17:51

Wow Hairy I know that house! I have long loved the magnolia tree in the front garden.

I wouldn't pay half that to live on Finchley Road. I agree it is sad.

wonkylegs · 10/12/2013 17:07

If this one had been slightly closer to our search area I would have snapped it up here
seriously gorgeous hallway/stairs
