Sick of tradesmen

We've got loads of trades in at the moment as part of our renovations, we're still in the house because they are confined to the back of the house, outside and the loft. I'm used to practice managing trades for a job (architect) but I'm well and truly sick of them today.
Had a stressful day of problems yesterday where we found issues with the structure & I had to come up with a solution quickly. My DS then had an accident so I had to sort that out & to top it all I was extremely ill last night.
All I wanted to do today was go to sleep.

Today seems to be stressful on the manpower front, loads of attitude & stress, people not turning up when they should, arguing with other trades and I feel like I should be asleep in a quiet place with people looking after me not playing referee to a bunch of overgrown children.

I know it will be worthwhile in the end, but it can't come soon enough.
Just needed to moan really

It will arrive though - think I hit a similar point to you last week (and our project was only on week four of a five week renovation). They are tidying up all the small bits this week, I am warm for the first time (heating finally commissioned today) and I can walk through the place without creating a dust storm the Sahara would have been proud of.

Don't know about you but, if I never see a vacuum cleaner again it will be too soon (was cleaning for at least an hour each evening after they left for the day).

Cake ? Oh and Wine for later. Xmas Wink

Moan away. I feel your pain.
We are on Day 64 of our extension and kitchen. What should have been relatively straightforward is dragging ridiculously because of disorganised project management (my building company). Honestly. I have never had building work done on my home before and am not an experienced project manager, but I swear I'd have been better off getting my own trades in and managing the lot. But no, I chose a company with tradesmen on staff but they've been so disorganised (taken on too many jobs I think) and it's been very frustrating. The end is in sight now but I've got ill children, been full of a stinking cold myself and just want to get the new boiler on ASAP!
I am fed up of the house being a mess with nothing in a proper place, of dust, of cooking on a camping stove, of everything being cold all the time...

Moonlight glad then end is in sight and you are warm again.
Helle I feel your pain, it's frustrating. I'm not sure they are any easier when you project manage rather than the builder mine have been extremely stressful to coordinate and I supposedly know what I'm doing Blush
I can't wait for them to be finished. It's going to be a late one tonight as they are trying to get done and out of the kitchen so they can screed the floor tomorrow.
I am trying to swap between feeling like death, dozing on the sofa and popping my head in to check they are doing what they are supposed to be. I'm sapped of all energy & frozen.

Hope they've finished up for the night now - and the 'flu goes soon.

Sounds like you're at a similar stage to me? I'm hoping the floor is being screed on Friday.
There have been plumber issues and they're only doing the boiler conversion now, although most of the plastering is done. Second fix electrics and joiners this week too. Hopefully.

GOOD LUCK! Hope you feel better soon.
