Nice laminate worktops.

I'm planning my new kitchen and am thinking about worktops. I like laminate as it is cheap and practical. On the other hand, I'm generally not keen on things pretending to be other things so am not too keen on all the wood/granite effect laminate. Does anyone have something that looks nice but not faux-natural and is modern classic rather than currently fashionable. I'd quite like something like my grandmother's old formica kitchen counters.

Watching with great interest...

I'm currently doing my kitchen and putting Duropal worktops in. The other main brands are Axiom (by Formica) and Bushboard, who have several ranges.

And I saw some today made by Nobilia in the Kuchenhaus shop at the Trafford Centre.

Another recommendation for Durapol. We have them in our new house and they are nice.

Ours are wider than a standard laminate worktop which I think helps make them look a bit less generic iyswim?

They seem to be good quality and are really easy to keep clean. No water marks etc.
