Becoming a nervous wreck waiting to receive final mortgage offer from Woolich /Barclays. It is taking much longer than I expected and causing all sorts of problems with the vendors. Anyone else in this predicament?

Are applications taking longer than usual?

Yes, some banks take a bloody age to issue loan papers to Solicitors. others are quite quick. It is a pain in the arse though.

They won't even give youa clue how long it will be, therefore the vendors keep asking and we keep saying should be in a few days, then it isn't. Can
'T help feeling it makes us seem shifty when we are just in the dark.

How long has it been?

It's more than three weeks since the survey. It's actually a remortgage, which we thought would be quicker than raising a new mortgage.

From application of our mortgage to mortgage offer took 4 weeks for us.

We're getting a Woolworth/Barclays Mortgage through a broker and he said it would take 3-4 days from the survey to get an offer. Hope he's right - we want to exchange soon!

We are also currently with them though and they haven't asked to see proof of income so I guess it's might be a bit quicker because of that.
