Hand painted kitchen- recommendations please.

We have finally had our kitchen installed. It's from handmade kitchens direct so we need to get it painted.
We've had a look online at traditional painter and they will come in at over 2K ! This is about 4 times what I estimated!! I'm obviously naive about these things!!
We're in the North Surrey area just inside M25. Has anyone got any recommendations. Pretty please.
We'll prob ask Little Greene to colour match F and B Bone. Anyone done a Little Greene colour match before??

Hi I painted a kitchen made by this company,it took me 10 days 1100 pounds plus paint and materials,I did everything in FandB Slipper satin and the Island unit in elephants breath,oh and I varnished the oak veneer interiors in ronseal trade poly satin.I undercoated everything in an oil based Albany primer which I tinted to as close to the finished colours as possible,so you have in effect three or four coats in the case of anything remotely white on you units,this process gives a really good durable finish,dont use FandBprimer or undercoat or any water based undercoats which is what everyone is trying to use,at the present time these paint do not work very well which is why many well known companies have trouble with the quality and durability of their paint finishes,just read some of the threads,anyone else need any help/advice contact me please.

I disagree. Why would you bother having farrow and ball paints matched by little Greene. you won't save money and it is very hard to match the depth of pigment so will look like a cheap copy.

I've used Farrow and ball and it looked good.

Farrow & Ball only do water based eggshell, Little Greene do oil based. Water based isn't resilient enough for kitchen units IMO.

All of the woodwork in my hall/stairs was painted in F&B water based eggshell just over a year ago and it looks very shabby already. Most professional painters would agree. My units have been painted in Leyland Trade oil eggshell - tough stuff!

I painted a kitchen from them recently. I used Little Greene oil based ( and a very good quality brush) it doesn't matter about the drying time as it took me a day to do each coat anyway and then it was dry for another coat the following day. The decorator recommened I do the first primer in a water based and then sand it before continuing with oild based undercoat and top coat.

I painted our kitchen from this company about three years ago in F&B water based eggshell ( seem to remember that it was water based primer as well). Still looks as good as new. Maybe it was your preparation.

Great to read these comments as I have been researching and getting quotes and HMK come out the best from a price and flexibility for fitting to exact measurements.

To all you gals who bought HMK are you happy with the quality, service etc?
Did you go and visit the showroom or bought it all online?
