Just how bad is laminate...

... in a bathroom? It's a small ensuite, occasional use by adults and it only needs to last a year or so. I know laminate isn't recommended for wet areas but I have loads left over from another job and wondered if it would work as a short-term solution. What do you reckon?

It's okaaaay.... We have inherited some (from someone who sold us a house with laminate in the bathroom). They put it in to flog the house. We knew it was there and it is a floor covering I guess.....
There is waterproof laminate but I guess you just mean the regular stuff.

We hadn't the cash to replace ours so I went around the edges with sealant and we have rugs to cover some of it and soak up moisture and stop it swelling. Worked ok so far.
It's not going to sell a house, or be a great long term flooring, but there's no reason why you "can't"....

not too bad, I hope - as just put it in ours! It is bathroom grade stuff. You just need to use bath/shower mats and hang them up afterwards, don't leave them wet on the floor. Don't do that anyway.

It's alright. Shows up the dust very readily though.

we had that in our last house and it didnt cross my mind that it might not be the right stuff. looked good and worked well (and I'm no fan of the stuff really)
