Had a phone call from solicitor today to say they had received our mortgage offer today, so would now be starting the local searches (which we paid for weeks ago). When I spoke to them last week, I was told everything was in hand and going well and they would be on touch when there was something else to tell me. Then late this afternoon I had a phone call from the EA to try and set a completion date which they were hopeful to be about 6th December. There is no chance of that with our useless solicitor now, is there? EA going to phone solicitors to try and speed everything up for us. I (like everyone else in our chain) wants to be done by Christmas. Is this normal, solicitors telling you things are going well when actually they have done nothing for our case?
