Hi
Bought a second hand dishwasher when moved in a my sink is non existent and am waiting for Santa to bring me a new one.

The thing has never really been good and a seal is leaking steam but now the tablet draw won't release so it's just sterilising the plates.

Can I put the tablet directly into the cutlery drawer?

Yes - I always do this with no problems.

I have a top cutlery tray rather than basket & put tablet in there or on the cup shelf.

This happened to us when we moved house and inherited the world's crappest kitchen.

The companies recommend you put the tablet on the floor of the dishwasher rather than the cutlery basket but yes it's fine.

I just throw mine into the dishwasher, all the release thing does is throw it in a few minutes after the cycle starts.

It could be a little gunked up give the tablet dispenser a good scrub just in case. Ditto the door seal.
I always use aldi tabs and my old dishwasher used to jam the dispenser draw on them so the cutlery tray on the top shelf did fine.
Until I read a thrift tip about cutting the aldi tabs in half to save money!

Yes - the spring on mine has broken so I pop it in the cutlery basket. Works fine.
