Laminated worktops

Hi all,

HELP!

I'm currently re-doing my kitchen and I have decided to go for a laminated worktop need (2 x 3000mm @ 665mm at 40mm depth) and I'm pulling my hair out.

I'm after a black with sparkles worktop and the cheapest I can find is £318, is that reasonable, or can someone suggest anywhere I can get them cheaper?
I'm having a Howdens kitchen installed, but they are charging around £377 for mirror chip w
I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks.

The major manufacturers are bushboard and duropal. I have masses of samples at home so can look for you - once you know the styles that would work you can look around for prices.

Is it the sparkly, glittery ones you're after? Hi gloss?

There's a place here which sells euro pal and axiom for cheaper - page I'm sending link too appears to be only £96 per 4.1m length ! I expect there's VAT and possibly delivery on top - but worth looking into !

Thank you so much for your input.

I am looking for the sprakly, glittery high gloss finish - but obviously at an affordable price.

It's a bit frustrating, but I really appreciate your help. I will check out the link too OnePlan.

B and Q do some nice hi-gloss laminate worktops. I'm thinking of getting them myself...

OnePlanOnHouzz · 05/11/2013 08:54

You are aware that the hi gloss laminate scratches very easily ?!
Make sure you have chopping board close to hand all the time ! As it's more likely to be a well meaning visitor who will damage your worktops !

Thanks, I'll check out B&Q.

Oneplan -You're right about the gloss finish, but it's hard to find a matt sparkly worktop, but I'll keep looking.

I've dug out my bushboard samples. Their omega range comes in several high gloss blacks, and they do a sparkly one too - strass noir.

Their prima range also has several from standard textures through to the radiance textures which are glinty. I've fallen in love with their antique Mascarello but I need longer lengths.

I think the 665mm is the wider depth - is that what you need?

Thanks Daisybell1 for that. I will research Bushbell.

My builder said that I can go for a 612mm worktop - which Howdens do.

I will still look into Bushbell. It has been a real nightmare.
