Discovered rats faeces in loft of garage conversion

There's a huge wisteria that's growing in the roof and the amount of rats droppings up in the roof, especially the insulation, is shocking.
We've moved in a few months ago and only got round to inspecting the roof of the garage conversion now because we want to add more insulation.
I've called pest control.
Will they just put some poison up there or will they also clean it all up properly? If not, who can I turn to?
Grateful for any advice

Personally I would trap them, its not nice but if they eat the poison then die in the loft or wall cavity's it will stink, the pest controller should advise the best way, but generally its block all entrances and hoover up the droppings then deal with the rats.
People feeding birds, pet rabbits etc attract them
You need to see whats attracting them so what food is nearby?
