Lighting over an island (and table)

Trying to plan the lighting for our new kitchen extension.
We have 3 Velux in the sloping roof and will be having some spotlights somewhere. I'd like a pendant light or two over the island and maybe one over the table. I'm just really stuck! I want to get the lighting right at this stage of the build but have no idea what I'm doing really.

The kitchen layout is basically L-shaped with island in one half of the room and table in the other.

Any suggestions? Sorry, stupidly vague post!!

I think a row of pendants over the table can look very nice. I also like a row over an island but think having two rows in different parts of the room might look a bit odd and, tbh, you want softer light over the table so would be tempted to stick to spots over the island.
