soil stacks!

we are having our very small bathroom gutted and replaced. As part of this we are moving the toilet, from the outside wall, to the adjacent wall.

as we have a cast iron soil stack, our plumber isn't keen on cutting a new hole into it for the new waste pipe, so has suggested an internal pipe with an air filter. This will be boxed in within the bathroom.

Is this a suitable option? We live in a bungalow so I can't see it being a massive job to replace current soil stack with a plastic one.

Our plumber knows we are on a budget but I'd prefer to spend a bit more than have a stinky bathroom!

I'm aware this interesting question may go unanswered! I have googled but can't find an answer I understand.

We are replacing our cast iron stack so that we can add to it. We don't have a WC in our bathroom so we are adding one and getting a new soil stack at the same time.
I tend to think if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing properly.
