Shall I keep the inside of my sash windows stripped or paint?

They are currently stripped (and oiled). Following renovation (which looks like a next spring project) should we leave them natural or paint them? The doors, floors, dados, banisters, architraves etc. are all natural wood. Would having the inside of the windows painted white or cream look odd? I really don't want to start painting everything to match.

Or perhaps someone can suggest a colour that might go nicely with the wooden doors and skirtings etc.? :)

I would have never have thought of leaving them natural if that makes sense? I would automatically assume painted white/cream.

Well that's what I thought. The previous owners have clearly spent a lot of time and effort stripping everything back to wood and I just wondered whether it would clash or if I'd have to paint everything else to match :)

I guess it depends what colour your walls are? If they are neutral it will look lovely. I think the danger with leaving them stripped but oiled is they might look unfinished IYSWIM.
