Me and dh have been saving for over a year for a deposit for a house.
We have yo 2dc. 1 has SN and 1 is very young therefore I don't work and he does. Dh is subject to immigration control.
He works 36hours.
We receive tax credits
Dla for dc
And I get carers allowance.
Ive seen a 4bedroomed recently refurbished house for 148 000.
Is it possible?

I dont have a clue on what to do so can someone explain what we need to do.
My parents would be able to help too

Thanks

I'd recommend you sit and work out your budget first off...maybe covering next 18 months or so. This will give you an idea of what you can afford as a mortgage payment. You'll need to budget fees, moving costs, etc so that's likely to reduce your savings...once all your finances are in order approach your bank about a mortgage promise...

Or speak to an IFA. Most estate agents have a mortgage adviser attached to their office who will run through an affordability check with you, know the best banks to look at for your circumstance and get an agreement in principle for the maximum you can borrow.
You should allow for around £600-£1000 fees for a solicitor, plus removals costs, and any immediate costs the property will require (additional furniture for instance). Also you will need buildings insurance as a condition of the mortgage, and 1% stamp duty at that price..
