Solicitor is taking far too long.

Paid her on the 13th of September.

She told me on the 30th of September that the searches were well underway.

She told DP on the 14th of October that she started the searches on the 7th of October.

Hmm

They're still not done.

I sent some paperwork to her which she claimed hasn't received them. The way she said it made me feel like she wasn't being entirely honest. (Might just be paranoia from her previous 'tales'.)

I'm frustrated.

What can I do to speed her up and get her to be a bit interested in what she's doing.

Would it be unreasonable to ring the estate agent and say that we want the searches done by Friday or we're pulling out?

I would say just keep hounding her. We went with a cheap solicitor to buy a new house and sell ours and it probably wasn't a wise move. He's painfully slow and rubbish at replying. Most of our updates I get through our estate agents rather than him. I email him every other day, some he replies with a one word answer and others he ignores! Just let them know you are on their case.
