We need a good surveyor that'll do the place we're offering on - any recommendations? We'd like to do a full structural survey...

PS, I'll be looking for friends when I move down as I know no one there. I am fairly normal and pleasant. But normaller and pleasanter when I have eaten cake.

Stuart Wood based in Canterbury did the survey for our house, he seemed very professional and I'm sure would talk/advise you if you wanted to accompany him on the survey. If you google I'm sure you'll find details and get an online quote. We didn't use them ourselves as we found it was cheaper to get the survey done through our mortgage company (have you considered this?).

We are in the unusual position of not needing a mortgage (it's a long and not always happy story)...
