Hi,

We are buying new sofás for the lounge and i am im a quandry about whether or not i should buy a four seater and a two seater like what i currently have, or a four seater and two single chairs? It is quite a long narrow room with double doors at one end ( where pic is taken from) so i cant have chairs at that end only along long wall and by window. Have shown couple of pics on my profile.

What do you think, we would mainly use four seater unless having people round.

I've got a very similar layout with two sofas. Mine are in the same position with a rug in front of the fire and one of these from ikea with I use as a coffee table

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69874042/

Mine's a living room/dinning room so the dining table is at the other end of the room. I like it like this as it's 2 defined areas iyswim.

Either would work, armchairs or sofa.

I agree you need something to fill in that empty space at the centre of the room - rug and coffee table would definitely help.

Plan is to get a rug once we have sorted the colour scheme, i just cant decide what, kind of chairs to put by the window. Dilemma!!

Maybe having two armchairs by the window would make a feature of it, rather than having a sofa in front of it?
