Can vinyl in entrance hall work?

Or will it just get trashed? I'm thinking of Amtico, Karndean etc because it should be cheaper than wood.

My Karndean is great in my hall. have had it almost 3 years and just damp mop it weekly. HOWEVER we don't have and havent had any dogs, push chairs or little kids with Tonka toys during this period!! We are toying with getting another dog shortly and I have wondered if the claws will cause us problems - although the compost wheelie bin has to come through our hall (very carefully) monthly and no scratches or damage so far!

We've got karndean in our rear hallway which takes all the traffic (farmer, boots, wellies, dogs, cats etc etc) it's the antique oak style and it still looks great after about 15 years.

The pattern is of a battered, gnarled oak plank which maybe shows any marks less than a black and white tile pattern, say.

Agree Daisybell - mine is similar style to yours - Slightly distressed oak!! At first I wasn't sure I liked it as it looked worn already!!! But love it now!

I'd love the real oak flooring but will probably settle for the faux! Thanks for feedback.
