Wardrobe colour - Farrow & Ball

Going round in circles trying to decide colours for fitted wardrobes we are having made. They will be Shaker style in wood - the bedroom is quite small and we have a white wooden bed and white wood venetian blinds. Was thinking about having wardrobes painted in F&B Lulworth Blue but then decided it was too much of a baby blue. Have tried testers of many of the other F&B pale blues and quite like Borrowed Light but now thinking we may be better off with a more neutral colour - a white or cream so if we change bedroom decor in future don't need to repaint wardrobes. Rest of room will probably be painted in a duck egg kind of colour - really like 1829 company's Morris Blue at the moment and we may put a yellow colour above picture rail - maybe Little Greenes custard. Please help me decide!!

Personally I'd either paint them the same colour as the walls or the same colour as the other woodwork ie white. Especially if you might already have a third colour above the picture rail. Four different colours in one room is too much IMHO!

Hmm thanks Minipie - hadn't really thought about 4 colours in one room being too much. Definitely don't want to paint wardrobes same as the walls though - but may think about not having a different colour above picture rail. Would like to be able to redecorate the room at some point in future without having to repaint the wardrobes as they will be spray painted and then having a varnish over top. Anyone else got any ideas?

I would be inclined to paint then the same colour as the rest of your wood work but then I am a little boring.

Thanks for that Joanna. Don't really want to do that though as they will take up a whole wall and we already have quite a lot of white in the room (which is likely what the wood work will be!) I know I'm being fussy!

Honestly if you want to be able to redecorate without repainting the wardrobes I would go with white - it's the only thing guaranteed to go with any future colour scheme I think lots of white in a room is a good thing, it means you can get away with bolder colour on the walls/curtains etc.
