Was supposed to be moving end oct beg nov. now found out the lady buying ours hasn't had the searches back there's a backlog of at least another 4 weeks so liking moving date now around first week dec :(
The house needs work before we can move in new bathroom, flooring. Which will take a week everything else will be done when we move in.
I'm moving with a baby nearly 9 months now and going back to work jan, I needed to move before going back to work I don't think it's going to happen can see something else going wrong- sorry for the rant needed a moan :(

Poor you, it is such a stressful process isn't it?! We have just gotten our third buyer and hoping that this one actually goes through with the purchase - moving before our baby is born is out of the question now, so I can totally sympathise!

Not much help sorry, but hope things start moving for you soon.

The English system is quite unique in its shitness and from your description you are in England.

So much sympathy for you, our last move was awful and very dragged out. We sold ours very quickly to (extremely patient) buyers and then had 2 purchases fall through before the 3rd took 12 weeks to complete (on an empty probate property, we had mortgage in place before making offer - could have been done in a week...).

It took so long that we had to sell and move in with in laws to keep the chain and my second child was born while we were camping in my in laws spare room.

I feel for you. It will happen. Have a glass of wine. Or three...

You have my sympathy, I was in the same position last year. Including the baby who was booked into a nursery in our new area. I was going bonkers with stress, but in the end we completed 3 weeks before I went back to work.

It is the shitest of shittiest situations - try not to let it get to you because it will happen eventually.

Spare a thought for my poor next door neighbour - she had her move delayed by four months because the guy she was buying from refused to move when his tortoises were hibernating. I kid you not!

Pour a glass of wine and curse the bastards who are holding things up!

Thank you all.
Yes we're in England its that obvious- so annoyed its the searches holding it up- on paper it seems straight forward cash buyer buying ours and we have mortgage in place moving into empty house but nothing's ever simple I guess.
Think I will take your advice and have a wine- tortoises that would send me over the edge right now Grin
