I am looking at buying a property that has a loft room. The survey flags up the flooring and insulation. I gather the flooring needs to come up and that insulation needs to go down under. There is no insulation at all in the are that has not been done out as a room.
Do you get a general builder to undertake this type of job, or do you require a specialist firm? Do you require a structural engineer to look at the joists when the flooring is up?
I think there are loans for insulation, are there grants too for insulation?
Do you think it will be safe to move a bed and some clothes into this room before sorting the insulation and flooring out?
