We are about to start a kitchen/diner extension and I am completely baffled about what combination of worktop, doors and floor to go with. Hoping for a kind of 'eclectic' modern vintage type look. Presently thinking about a mix of full height wood and standard height slab white (matt) doors, with solid wood worktop - probably all ikea. But what flooring? Wood too much with a wood worktop and some doors too? Slate looks nice in pics online but maybe too dark - but there will be glass all down one side of the room. Limestone / travertine type stone - does it go with white doors? Marmoleum / posh Lino? Could be good but bit scared of colour commitment! We want to have underfloor heating as concrete subfloor. Need it to be practical too. Help!!
