I like the look of the area around Southchurch park as there's lots of nice period properties. Anyone got experience of the area?

Ah I beg your pardon I was thinking ocean beach bar was a different place - that part of the beach is lovely - quite near the beach huts!

Yes, that's a nice area. It's past the Kursal and on the way to Thorpe Bay I think? The noisy part of the sea front is really between the Kursal and the Westcliff Casino.

Ps for that money I would still choose Leigh. You could afford the Marine estate for £500k....... Just saying......

Eastern esplanade, the Thorpe Bay end is nice.

Thanks for your help. Definitely leaning towards a move to southchurch/thorpe bay seafront end of town. Just been reading up about the man from towie taking over a hotel in leigh which confirms my previous fears that leigh is a bit too stereotypically Essex for me!

the kursaal is very low crime and those who live there many want to stay as its safer than most areas in southend
