Fabric for sitting room curtains - opinions please?S

So a year after moving in to our renovated house I am finally looking at new curtains. Thinking of this:

Is this lovely or naff? I like it but have real trouble deciding stuff like this. Would really value your opinions. and my mum said she likes it a lot so it make me worried I am being frumpy

Is going in sunny, southfacing room - in a big bay. Room has smoked, warm oak floors, plain white walls, squishy cream brocade sofa/chairs (the yellow of the flowers matches the sofa colour), a mishmash of oak and dark wood furniture, wood burning stove. It is not a formal room - but it is our adult room (rest of downstairs is open plan).

Your opinions gratefully received. Will this echo and accentuate a warm, sunny comfortable adult space - or look like something my granny would have?

I think they are nice but I wonder where the colour is coming from in the room? Will you have anything on the wall or any cushions?

It sounds like a lovely positioned room so I'd be a bit cautious about going too neutral.

It IS a bit frumpy. There is nothing naff about it, but don't forget that when you have more of it, it will look very "inoffensive"
It is pretty expensive for inoffensive.
I can see the fear in that fabric choice.

A cheaper version of the dandelion clocks which I think are Sanderson. For a west facing living room, white walls, sea-green blue sofas, light beige carpets, dark wood. Probably eclectic in style, but not much on walls etc yet. Also one year post moving! I'm a bit worried that the above fabric might date but I like the splash of colour. Opinions welcome...

I like bland Do not want curtains to be the focal point - but the woodburner.

Seriously, I am not a colour (or normally even pattern) kind of person. I like calm, neutral, understated. Hence my entire house is painted white. I do add splashes of colour - but with a winter/summer swap of cushions and throws/ the odd vase picked up from ebay. The colour splashes will wait until the room is finished.

I had almost convinced myself it was a no-no - then went into the room and saw the sample on the back of the chair and re-thought again....arghhhhhh!

The room has lots and lots of texture in it - woodburner, pale brick hearth, wooden floor, different textured woods. It is sunny and the view is very organic - just trees, bushes and hedging. I have wool, fleece and jumbo cord throws (can be changed). Pictures to go up are quite muted - watercolours, sepia photos. Very few knicknacks - but those there are a metal, wood or stone. Several house plants. In out last house we had very brightly coloured pictures in the sitting room, picked out by accessories. I am tired of bright.

I couldn't quite tell from the picture but is it a fairly heavy fabric, and embroidered? If so, I think it might look a little bit luxurious but in quite an understated way. Which sounds like what you're going for. Not fashionable I guess (though I'm probably no guide) but I think it would look pleasant and welcoming. If that helps!

fishfingers if you like them and they reflect your taste then that's all that matters.

bea I love Sanderson clocks. Yes, they will date in time but it's only curtains so if you go off them in years to come they are easy to change.
