We are moving friday, expecting removals at 8.30. but wondered what is the actual process? Will we get a call from solicitor to say its on? Then what happens?

Sorry to sound naive. Blush
Just having a nervous breakdown surrounded by boxes other stuff.

Just cleaned out fish and still to do gerbil tomorrow. Feel sick and panicky.

Just wonder

You will normally get a call to say the transaction has gone through but not before mid to late morning.

I exactly the same position as you - exchanged on fri and completion this fri. I was told on exchange day, that on 27th to expect a call between 12 - 2 telling me I can go and collect the keys from the agent. I'm planning to ring the solicitor tomorrow to check all is well.

Good lunch Andwhen! Hope it turns out okay. I am so exhausted with it all to be honest. Even forgot to go to a meeting tonight - I am so embarrassed. I also bought a load of stuff home from work that I will now have to pack and take back in next week...what a doofus?

I cant wait for it to all be over - we sold our house in January so its been a long slog. Anyway early night for me.

Fingers crossed for an uncomplicated move!

you get packed up and vacate your property, and drop the keys round to the estate agent. (or give them a spare set now and then just chuck yours through the letterbox). You then send your removers to the new place.

Hopefully by the time you arrive the funds will have moved around and the agent for the new place will give you the keys. Find out if you need to go to collect them or if they will meet you.

if you are first in the chain you should have access by about midday. If you are higher up it may take a bit longer. Make sure you have a charged phone and a list of all the right numbers, and keep nagging.

Thanks for that. I can't believe it's our last night in the house after 13 years.
