Does anyone know if this will work? Some of the wallpaper is shiny and smooth. I am not sure how well paint will take to it?

My advice - don't. Always strip it first. Sorry.

Oh dear. I was hoping for a quick fix for horrible wallpaper!

Sorry. Might be just me being picky. I'm sure someone will be along in a mo to tell you it'll be fine Grin

I think I once read that you could add a dash of fairy liquid to the paint and it will cover up.

I expect the paint will fall off. It might be "washable" paper or it might be vinyl. Strip it and clean all paste off the wall before patching and misting it. Don't put glue on the plaster.

It worked ok for us. Dark blue shiny-ish wallpaper with gold bits. Lovely.

Thanks. I went out today and bought primer for putting on wood metal and plastic. I thought it might help the paint to stick better.
Think i will probably try it and see!

Might be expensive but Annie Sloan paint covers pretty much any surface.
