we have gas ch and the boiler was replaced about 5/6 years ago but the radiators are older - maybe 40/45 yrs? is it worth replacing the radiators to provide more heat?

We're doing this in our house, one by one as otherwise it's too expensive. It makes a real difference to the warmth.

We are relocating some radiators in two rooms of our house - you're not doing that are you? To relocate one radiator to a totally different place (a good few metres of new pipes behind walls) and get a new, bigger radiator was £430. We are in the midlands, in a semi- rural town.

I would get some quotes and check if the radiators you have now are provide the correct heat for the size of the room. Id get a plumber around around for a quote.

We did this - gradually because there were lots - and the difference was unbelievable. Well worth it in our case. And it meant we could put some prettier ones in the hallways when we could afford it.

We're doing our radiators ourselves, they're about £100 each so not cheap.
