Anyone else in a temporary kitchen right now? What's it like?

Ours is upstairs in my office which luckily had a sink.
We have squeezed the table in. We have a toaster oven, microwave and toaster but no hob. The fridge and dishwasher are plugged in downstairs but I've given up trekking to the dishwasher and back and just wash up as I go.
The best thing is how cosy and stripped down it all feels. What's yours like?

I have been living like this for around 3 months. I thought it was cosy and fun to start with. Now I think I am slowly going insane.

We are camping in our sitting room. Fridge freezer in corner next to Table with microwave/grill toaster and kettle. Food and dishes stored in wicker boxes under the table. Dust and grime everywhere. Very small food prep area.
Eating out and takeaways were a novelty for the first few weeks. I am now heartily sick of eating crap. All ready meals are tasteless.
I really miss having a dining table. My sofa is filthy and coffee table is scratched. No where to do homework etc.
No sink or dishwasher. All dishes washed up in cast iron bath. Bath is now chipped. Most dishes are chipped or broken and my back is buggered.
Very limited laundry facilities.

On the plus side it is amazing to discover how little you need in the way of gadgets and utensils. I have boxes of kitchen stuff stored in the garage that I may never bother with again.

You have my sympathy. We got unbelievably lucky when we had our kitchen done... The weather was incredible, so we cooked and ate outside, and our fitter managed to keep the sink operable for all but a day, having got the dishwasher running before that. What did drive me nuts was that all the kit was spread out all over the house, so we were always looking for the stuff we needed (salad bowls), and tripping over the stuff we didn't (saucepans!)
