For a 18.5ft by 8.9ft room?

Not sure whether a 6ft would be too big.

No, think that would be ok, provided the footboard wasn't too high (if there is one).

Sleigh bed so yes. Rather high.

That will make the space between the end of the bed and the wall feel quite narrow.

About 1.4 feet. Love the bed though. Not sure if I will regret it.

I don't think there is much point having a big luxurious bed in a room that can't accommodate it properly. Sorry, I think it could look a bit ridiculous. You'd be better off with a simpler design that didn't have a footboard or only a very low one - something like this with or without the storage-y bit.

The point of a big luxurious bed is that you sleep well and are comfortable. I wouldn't care if the room looked small in comparison as long as you have enough space for the things you need in the room. The bigger the better. But I would get a divan and lovely head board rather than a sleigh.

And can you put the bed on the shortest wall? Have small bedside tables, or rather than that you could have shelves. Leaves plenty of room then for other things. You could put a large storage box at the end of the bed. Built in wardrobes at the end and drawers on wall.

I have a super king bed in a room not much bigger than the bed. I don't give a shiny suite what it looks like because it's bloody marvellous to sleep in Grin
As long as you can fit in a wardrobe / whatever else you need in there it will be fine.

Not a fan of futons! Room is approx 18 1/2 x 8 1/2 foot so not too small, but shape annoying. Shortest wall is under the window.

We have a king size duvan which is fine. Sleigh slighty longer.

No, I'm not mad on futons either but just thought the shape of that bed would work better. Anyway, if you like the sleigh bed and you don't mind how it looks in the room, you should get it Smile.

Arh there is a bed in that link. Just saw futons first time I looked. Sleigh bed people offer 21 day money back so still tempted and allow you to switch bed type.

I can't believe the size of some of those beds. The wood was so heavy and impressive. But looked spooky.

We have a super king in a small room. Never regretted it - we don't do much else in there apart from sleep, so for me it's worth focusing on that bit, and having a bit of space when I sleep really helps, and it fits the dcs crawling in in the night. I've always wanted a bedroom that is actually just totally bed.....!
