should solicitors have responded by now?

We are selling our house and our solicitor contacted the buyer's solicitor last Friday with some exchange/completion dates proposed. They have still not responded, well as of yesterday, as my solicitor hasn't been in touch.

We are on a very tight timescale so we need to know asap what the dates will be.

Can I insist my solicitor chases this up with them immediately?

I would get the agent to phone the buyers directly.
