Insurers for listed buildings?

Oh bother. I am trying to arrange home insurance for when we move in at the end of the month and I just realised comparison websites just generally can't deal with a quote for a listed building. I phoned my usual insurer and just about spat my tea out at the price so I want to get a few other quotes but really, I will lose the will to live if I have to ring each one directly. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I think you probably do just need to keep phoning round.

FWIW, we're insured with NFU, as are most people I know of with a listed building, and they seem very nice and laid back.

DH phoned them to say we were having major building works, and they just said, 'okay, that's par for the course with a house like yours, don't worry about it'.
