Hi, we are currently planning our new kitchen. It's in a half basement with low (7 foot) ceilings so quite dark. We have settled on cream painted wood units with mid grey granite worktops. I'm really stuck on what flooring to go for though. I love the look of slate but am worried that it will make the room too dark and cave-like. It is the norm to match flooring to worktops or would a lighter stone floor work?
