Matt paint dilemma

Juskeepswimmin · 13/09/2013 18:23

i have just had my new house painted in light neutral coloured Matt paint., just dawned on me that it will be impossible to keep clean. Is there a clear coating type of product that cam help keep walls stain free?

Not that I'm aware of, but you can buy stain resistant paint.
Might be worth considering next time you need to paint - it has a different resin in the paint, which makes it easier to wipe off marks.

You may as well repaint when you need to, rather than add an extra coat. I have always used matt, with no problems.

We've got scrubbable matt paint on all our walls. The small people's finger makes come off really easily.

For a second I thought this was an Archers thread...

I'm in the process of changing over to scrubbable matt whenever I repaint a room. It's been holding up well in the kitchen so far. If you're going to paint something over may as well get a shade as close as possible to what you already have.

I did the hallway and stair walls with dulux endurance, the kitchen with dulux kitchen, but the rest of the house in just normal matt... Then i read about people using mid sheen or satin which is easier to clean. Hey ho will try to remain relaxed about it and repaint with the scrubbable stuff when needed.
Thanks for your replies

Dulux endurance should be scrubbable, I think. We used the trade diamond matt, but the endurance is similar to that.

Mid-sheen and satin will just show up all the imperfections in your walls. Even ones you didn't know we're there.

We have used dulux endurance on two kitchens, and it has been great. Scrubbable, no just wipeable.
