I'm applying for a mortgage through Nationwide. I also have a Flex current account with them.
They need to see recent evidence of the Child Benefit I receive. I tell them it is paid into my Flex account so they can check for themselves. Oh ok, they say, that is fine. Two days later repeat conversation. This has happened about 4 times. One time I even read out my sort code and account number to the person on the phone and she confirmed that she had seen the Child Benefit on my account.
Aarrghhh! I know I could/should print out a copy of my statement and send it to them, but my printer is on the blink and it is a PITA when they can see for themselves that the money is going into my account each month.
