I'm applying for a mortgage through Nationwide. I also have a Flex current account with them.

They need to see recent evidence of the Child Benefit I receive. I tell them it is paid into my Flex account so they can check for themselves. Oh ok, they say, that is fine. Two days later repeat conversation. This has happened about 4 times. One time I even read out my sort code and account number to the person on the phone and she confirmed that she had seen the Child Benefit on my account.

Aarrghhh! I know I could/should print out a copy of my statement and send it to them, but my printer is on the blink and it is a PITA when they can see for themselves that the money is going into my account each month.

And breathe!

I feel your pain. Don't stop checking and chasing them.

We recently applied to borrow some more money on our mortgage to fix our roof. 6 weeks in they said they needed proof of all income - which I'd already sent them. I sent it all again. 2 weeks later they phoned to ask for it again. I got them to look through the file on the phone, it was all there and they ticked it off.

Two weeks later...yep same thing again.

Had to go into a branch and complain in the end.
