Replacing gas fire

We currently have a log-burner style gas fire (ceramica manhattan log burner) which is lovely but far too massive for the room, don't quite know what the previous owner was thinking. I would like to try and sell it but it has a small crack in the back. So my questions are: can this be repaired, if so who might do it? Where do you sell a 2nd hand gas fire? It stands on a large lump of slate too, where could i sell that? And finally, looking or a new one how do i know what type is suitable? We have a very unusual looking flue to outside that was installed by the previous owner. I dont know what type the current one is. Bit clueless. Any help apreciated.
