Where do you keep car-related stuff if you don't have a garage?

We're buying a house without a garage or any off-street parking. We currently have a garage, so car-related stuff like oil, de-icer etc lives there.

Where do you keep that sort of stuff if not in a garage?

We keep car stuff (and motorbike stuff) in a cupboard under the stairs, in the loft and in our very full shed. It's a pain and we're currently looking at moving to somewhere with a lot more storage, if not a garage then room for a very large shed. Do you have much storage space in your new home?

you can keep a small amount (de-icer, 1litre top-up oil, chamois, windscreen washer fluid, jump leads, basic tools, red triangle, workshop manual, torch, yellow jacket, gloves) in the boot, where they will be most useful. In some cases there is useful space under/around/on the spare wheel under its lid, and in the hatch at the side of the boot where the jack goes (I keep spare bulbs and fuses in there)

I keep all the above listed in my spare wheel well, but it is unusually roomy.

I think you need a shed or one of those low garden lockers. You might be able to tuck it in the front garden, if any.

There is a roomy shed, but our plan is to convert it into a garden office. We'll still need somewhere for lawn mower and garden tools, so guess we'll end up with another shed elsewhere. Good idea about garden storage boxes. There probably is space in the front garden for one of those.

... Or you cold take a different approach...
We have a double garage, end even keep both cars in it, but even so we keep 1 can of de-icer kept in a kitchen cabinet, everything else kept in the local Tesco; or Halfords for more major items; and acquired as needed.

I keep stuff like that in the boot.

Our old house didn't have a garage. Car stuff was kept in our utility room. (we had high level shelves all the way round)

In our current place - in a cupboard in the lounge with the boiler/DIY stuff. In our old place in a cupboard under the stairs. (Neither have had a garage or shed.)

Do you really have that much car related stuff? In winter I have a couple of cans of de icer in the boot, what else is there?
