How long between accepting offer and completion? (in Scotland)

We had an offer on our house and accepted it. Guy buying the house spoke to OH just after and said they were going away for the weekend but hoped to sign missives when they got back... that was 4 weeks ago now.

Our solicitors are waiting for a response from the buyer's solicitors but they said they were still waiting for the mortgage paperwork to come through a week ago.

Any advice on this one - is this usual? Don't know how long the process usually takes. They are 1st time buyers too.

TIA :)

Usually about 6-7 weeks.

Great thanks. Good to know this is standard waiting time.

It can be FAR quicker than that. I would be chivvying them tbh via your solicitor.
Solicitors vary ENORMOUSLY in quality. Some are extraordinarily un-proactive.
