Hi, I made an offer for a house on Monday, I haven't heard back - when should I chase up the estate agent?

now. It's their job to sort this out.

Thanks, just called and am waiting for someone to call me back.

Not a good service from the agent. They should have passed the offer on immediately. Even if they failed to get in touch with the owner, or the vendor is taking a long time to consider the offer (too long?) they should be keeping you informed and chasing the vendors.

How much under asking did you offer if you don't mind me asking. It does look like they are considering it though as it takes no time to deliver a 'NO'.

The house is on for £460k and I offered £410k.

My house isn't on the market yet (though it will sell quickly) so I assumed the offer would be rejected straight away.

Good luck, looks like they are considering it, maybe they'll come back with a counter-offer.

If you are serious, have you done anything about getting your own house on the market? Still no excuse for the agent not getting in touch but if I was the vendor my response to such an offer would be an immediate no! How do they know you are serious about the offer?

Unexpected, I agree with you which is why I thought it would be rejected. We are having a valuation this week and I am confident that my house will sell quickly due to price and location.
