Best place for well priced kitchen appliances?

I'm on a tight budget but annoyingly I need a new dishwasher (integrated so happy to have a second), fridge freezer and range cooker as mine have given up.

What are your best tips for well priced but decent make appliances and suppliers?

I have spent hours on www.ao.com looking at the videos but now my head is hurting!

Am considering a BEKO dishwasher and fridge freezer (possibly American unplumbed). These are around the £300 and £500 mark.

I have max £1500 for all three.

Apologies for the dull thread but I know there are some good deals to be had, am not just very good at finding them!

We looked on Which to get an idea of how good the different makes were, so we had a shortlist in terms of reliability. We then googled to see roughly what prices we could get online and set a budget, ie I was willing to spend proportionately more on the oven than the washing machine.

I then let DH go wild with a spreadsheet and he presented me with three options for each thing based on price and reviews. unfortunately he is not available for hire

We ended up getting things from all different places but have a Beko integrated washer and a John Lewis cooker and Indesit washer/dryer. We went really cheap with the washer dryer as they're very unreliable whether you spend 700 or 300...

I've used Appliances Online a few times, now called ao.com and found them very reliable and quick, so if they have what you want at a decent price I'd say they're trustworthy (although they will ring you up after the sale and try to sell you tricksy overpriced warranty products).

Is your Beko ok btw? They do well on Which but lots of the Which reviews are a bit out of date now.

did we have the conversation about the disadvantages of Integrated?

We did indeed Piglet but I have my fingers in my ears!

I like coop electricals but not used them for a while as could get cash back and free delivery which always made them cheapest. Don't know if cash back still applies as was through another website.

Which recommendations followed by Internet search to find best price. John Lewis was hard to beat-bought a couple of appliances for new kitchen there and although one was £20 more it felt okay because of the reliability of John Lewis.

Having a new kitchen installed next month with dishwasher and washing machine integrated.

Boots.com are meant to be good for appliances for some reason (have not used myself) - you get Advantage points on them as well.

Boots appliance online sales, like Debenhams for large appliances, are outsourced to one of the big online appliance suppliers. I forget which one. You may notice that apart from the branding, the webpages, prices and stock look the same, and you may not be able to use the store account card. There are other retailers without their own large appliance warehouses who do the same.

we find boots very good for appliances although they are hideously OTT about communicating.
they ring about five times before the item arrives and about five times as a follow up. just what you want!

Whatever models you decide on, copy and paste the model details into a Google search and find the cheapest online price for it. Keep a note of the site.

Then phone ao.com and order over the phone. They'll price match everything. We recently did this and saved £170 on three appliances but got the ao.com service (which was actually really good - delivery was well
Communicated and on time/courteous/helpful).

Totally ignore their "great news - your appliances have a lifetime guarantee" chat which is their opener for the big extended warranty sell. The cost of the insurance they quoted me would have paid for new appliances within about 7 years!!! Their staff are really friendly until you say no but still polite and helpful (if just a little petulant, IMO).

I bought my washing machine from Boots online and was very happy with them & their price (LG Direct Drive 7kg - not integrated though).

John Lewis price match and tend to give a longer warranty, so it is worth finding the cheapest, then asking JL to price match if necessary.

I do like the idea of John Lewis but they don't price match internet prices I think so that may rule them out...
They also don't sell the models I am looking for, which is a pita.
Will look at Boots, though they do seem to charge for delivery.

Depends where you are but when my mum needed to replace her washing machine I found the cheapest online quote. She then happened to be in a local town that she doesn't go to very often and was walking past a local appliances shop that doesn't have a big online presence or have its prices included in the big price search databases.

She went in just to have a look at the machine she was thinking of getting as she had only seen pictures of it online and thought if this place had it, it would save her a trip to a different town to look at it in John Lewis.

Not only did this place have a significantly better price than the cheapest place online but it included delivery, fixing it in and removal of the old one. And a good long warranty. And old fashioned nice honest good service.

If you're in the right neck of the woods it might be worth ringing up - it was in Bicester, although I can't remember the name if the shop, there are only a couple of independent appliance shops in the town. Or trying your own local independent appliance shops to see what their prices are.
