Natural Granite or Quartz Stone worktop?

Hi I'm redoing my Kitchen and am having a wobble about the lovely natural granite that I've chosen (you almost feel like you could see fossils in it!) or going for a Quartz Stone worktop. I had a black granite top before (that was in the kitchen when I bought the house) I think that was Quartz stone but I am not sure. I liked the durability of the granite I had but didn't like the uniformity of the colour hence my looking at the natural granite. As far as I understand the natural granite is not as durable as the quartz but is the natural stuff a nightmare to look after? I'd welcome any advice thanks!

i love my grey starlight quartz! no problems, marks, staining etc would definitely have it again

My personal preference would be quartz over granite on the basis that granite is porous whereas quartz isn't (important factor for keen chefs).
