Hi, I'm new to the site but could use some advice! A friend who works as a lettings agent told me the estate agent we are selling through (due to exchange in next 2 weeks) are going bust. I rang them obviously concerned. They said there have been rumours started by other estate agents but they have are being re branded because one of the business partners (who the company is named after) has left. I have Googled it and this seems to be true. I just cant shake the worried feeling.

We are buying through a different estate agent so that's fine. I guess having been on the market a fair while I just desperately dont want the sale to fall through.

What would you do? Trust the estate agent and hope for the best? What else can I do?
Thanks in advance

Speak to you conveyancer about your concerns asking specifically what effect this would have on the sale. Tbh if you are that involved in the process I think the only effect would be that your payment to the EA(fees) may be delayed if they go bust as you will need to pay insolvency company (to go to creditors)
Your conveyancer should be able to sort out key exchange if necessary. Depending on how good a communicator your conveyancer is you may wish to get the other buyers contact details in case their are any problems.
