Do builders provide guarantees for extension work?

I am now in the process of buying a property with two-storey extension (completed 4 years agao). Can I ask the vendor to supply guarantees for all work related to the extension? Can I ask the vendor to supply details of the company who managed the construction of the extension? Look forward to hearing any advice on this.

most builders are sole traders do doubt have guarantees, it should have building regs though, which should confirm it's built to standard
