Furniture for very small child's bedroom

Our house is a pretty standard 3 bed semi with dormer windows upstairs. The third "bedroom" is tiny and has lie-ins from the stair/dormer windows so there's not much floor or head space round the edges of the room. DS2 is getting too big for his toddler bed, but if we put a full size single in there, there won't be room for anything else. Has anyone else found a creative solution to this problem? I was thinking about a mid sleeper but they all seem huge. Thanks.

We have a similar room. There is an IKEA extending bed that fits across the end of our room in its smaller 2 sizes (3rd is full size). 2nd size might be big enough for your son for the moment. I have also looked at midsleepers but think they will block the window and make the room look like a cupboard with a huge bit of furniture in it. So we are going to get something made to fit. Bed with drawers underneath - still pretty low- and desk alongside at the end( so L shaped). And drawers at the other end with some shelves above. All one piece of furniture but quite low so as not to block the light. Won't be much floor space though.

Thanks -I was thinking that getting something built in was possibly the best option. Agree re not blocking the window and mid- sleeper making the room look even more cupboard like!

DD has the Ikea Minnen metal frame extending bed. It only has 3 different length options though, you can't adjust it exactly to your room size though. I'll measure it in the morning, she has it on the middle setting.

My neighbours with the same tiny room problem ended up getting a bed made with a small amount of storage underneath.

You can build your own to any size and get matress made.
If you hunt around you can get "ordinary" beds that are just 2'6" wide and or 5'3" long. In old measurements sorry don't know the metric.
We actually found a bunk bed with these measurements but it took a lot of searching.

Getting bed frame built by carpenter to fit and ordering custom made mattress on-line which isn't as expensive as you might think. My sister has just had one custom made for a vintage bed frame.

We're having this for a small bedroom that our DD's share. I'm going for floor beds to create illusion of space. A simple wooden cup frame with slats painted white to drop in a custom made mattress. The frame will be sat on locking caster wheels just because it will look modern and it give a small gap for ventilation under bed.
