baths

I wonder if anyone out there knows about this sort of thing but I wanted to know if there is anywhere to buy a bath (acrylic or steel) which has a more traditional/old style shape.

We have just spent a fortune on a bathroom with a high spec 800 x 1700 bath but it is so uncomfortable - the main problems being:

it has these really thick sides so the area where you lie is a bit narrower,
it somehow seems to have a sort of 'slope' 1-2 cm so that the area where your body is lying is shallower than the area around the plug (which is unnecessarily wide and deep)
but the worst thing is that it has this sort of sloping back so your hair is constantly getting wet around that nape of your neck and you can never 'float your shoulders in the water' - also you are always leaning on this hard surface so your back muscles never relax properly.

We had this old bath - it was acrylic with lovely thin sides and a sort of scooped back, just that really straightforward design that had been around for ever - sometimes you had to sweep away the last of the water into the plug hole but you could rest your head on the edge of the bath and sort of float yourself in the water. I have spent a lot of money on this new bathroom but it just doesn't function as well as the old one did for me.

I just wondered if I could replace the bath maybe it would be ok again - but I can't find any thin sided regular shaped baths.

If you do know of a supplier, please tell me.

I'm looking for a new bathroom suite, and want a bath with grips, as I'm short (5 foot tall, so don't want a huge bath that I can't get in and out of - need some grips on bath. Been looking at Twyfords and Armitage Shanks, here's a site that may give you some ideas -
